1. Who is responsible
Fibonacci Notes is a project of Fibonacci Impact, provided by Fibonacci Impact LLC, Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). This policy covers this website, notes.fib.im, and the Fibonacci Notes apps (the web app at notes.fib.im/app/ and the iPad app). Contact: [email protected].
2. This website
- The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
- The contact page’s template stays in your browser: nothing you type there is sent to us until you send the message yourself by WhatsApp or email.
- The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of the request.
- Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
3. When you contact us
If you write to us, we keep what you send (your name, school or company, email address or WhatsApp number and the message) to reply, to arrange a demo, early access or a plan, and to keep a record of what was agreed. WhatsApp messages are also handled by WhatsApp under its own terms.
4. Your account and sign-in
You sign in with a Fibonacci account through Fibonacci single sign-on, our own Keycloak identity server at auth.fib.im, shared by the Fibonacci products. It holds your name, email address and sign-in details. The app keeps your account’s plan, its limits and how much storage you use, so that the limits can be applied.
5. Your notes
- Your notebooks, pages, handwriting, typed text, stickers and tape are stored on our servers, so they can sync to every device you sign in on.
- PDFs and pictures you import are stored in object storage on our own servers and fetched by your devices through short-lived links. Text in imported PDFs is extracted on our servers so it can be searched.
- On iPad, your handwriting is recognised on the device, by Apple’s on-device recognition; the recognised text is stored with your notes so search can find it.
- We use your notes only to provide the service to you: storing, syncing, searching and exporting them. We do not read them, sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models. When you ask for handwriting to text in the web app, or maths to LaTeX, the part of the page you selected is sent as an image to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI models), which returns the text. So that search can find your handwriting, pages written in the web app are also sent as images to Anthropic to be read. Under its commercial terms Anthropic does not use this to train its models. On iPad, handwriting to text and handwriting search run on the device.
- Audio you record is stored with the notebook it belongs to, like your PDFs and pictures, and is only played back to you (and to anyone you share the notebook with).
- If you turn on a read-only link for a notebook, anyone who has the link can read that notebook, without an account, until you turn the link off.
6. Who we share with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the providers that host and run the service for us (our servers, object storage and the website’s hosting), under confidentiality, and with authorities where the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
Your notes and files: while your account exists, then deleted within a reasonable time after you close it, unless the law requires us to keep part of it. Contact correspondence: as long as it is useful for the relationship and any legal record-keeping. Invoices: as long as accounting law requires.
8. Your rights
You can export your notebooks as PDF from the app at any time. You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it and your account, by writing to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
9. Children
Fibonacci Notes is used by students. If you are under 18, use it with the permission of a parent, guardian or your school. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s account at the address above.
10. Changes
We will update this page when what we do changes, and date the new version.
